A Trekking Journal

November 12, 1997

Today (be) is the second day of my trek around Mount Annapurna. I am exhausted and my legs (shake) are shaking; I just hope I am able to complete the trek. My feet (kill, really) are really killing me and my toes (bleed) are bleeding, but I (want, still) still want to continue.

Nepal is a fascinating country, but I have a great deal to learn. Everything (be) is so different, and I (try) am trying to adapt to the new way of life here. I (learn) am learning a little bit of the language to make communication easier; unfortunately, I (learn, not) don't learn foreign languages quickly. Although I (understand, not) don't understand much yet, I believe that I (improve, gradually) am gradually improving.

I (travel, currently) am currently traveling with Liam, a student from Leeds University in England. He (be) is a nice guy, but impatient. He (walk, always) always walks ahead of me and (complain) complaining that I am too slow. I (do) am doing my best to keep up with him, but he is younger and stronger than I am. Maybe, I am just feeling sorry for myself because I am getting old.

Right now, Liam (sit) is sitting with the owner of the inn. They (discuss) are discussing the differences between life in England and life in Nepal. I (know, not) don't know the real name of the owner, but everybody (call, just) just calls him Tam. Tam (speak) speaks English very well and he (try) is trying to teach Liam some words in Nepali. Every time Tam (say) says a new word, Liam (try) tries to repeat it. Unfortunately, Liam (seem, also) also seems to have difficulty learning foreign languages. I just hope we don't get lost and have to ask for directions.

the flooding in our campus

THE SABANA UNIVERSITY BEFORE AND AFTER THE FLOODING
University of Sabana is very beautiful, has green fields, cutting edge technology al the facility, good places to eat some lunch step. But something that breaks our heart to all students and people working there and was the flood waters of the Bogota river within the grounds of the campus, was a disastrous fact for everyone but we overcame with the help of each and each now we’re back.

On the one hand, before the flood all the facilities were fine and working property, all the  technology belonging to the university was in perfect condition and all the people who study and all the faculties were good, the container of water that was around the university was doing a good job.

On the other hand, after the flood all students and administrative staff saw how our university was one-half under water, a;; buildings were damaged viruses that brought this and unusable just after they got all the water pumps, all chairs, tables, computers and other objects were totally damaged, to repair the damage caused by the river contaminates had to thoroughly clean the walls, stairs and everything who was in the buildings that were in contact with the stream.

As a conclusion, this tragedy that happened to our campus, as we saw did not stop us for a second is more gave us more strength to move on and leave it nice and even more solid than it was, we did more to improve infrastructure buildings, planting more plants and trees, far more college wanting and show the world that while rainfall sunk us for several days and had to make sacrifices, still there today and we will continue.

Compare and contrast essay
¿The role of women has changed?
In each country the role of women is different, many many years women have been invisible in the society as women, women believed that we were weaker than men. In addition, Bhutan and Uganda have a lot of differences with regard to role of women in society but also have similarities, over time women have been changing the story itself.

On the one hand, Bhutan and Uganda have things in common like women can participate in politics and life government administrative this issue was a big problem for women in history and was a big step that government takes into account women´s decisions. Alike women in these countries can participate in agriculture because in the past only society thought that women getting pregnant and served having babies and also take care of them, currently, women have more opportunities to work on their things that are important.

In contrast the roles of women in these countries are different, in Bhutan such as economic development increased participation of women in medicine and other areas. About 10 percent of government employees are women and another thing importantly, the association started that they can`t promote equal rights for women and men. And finally in Uganda, women are the only people who care for children and pre independence women began to exercise political power.

To sum up, men and women will never be able to be in complete balance of rights, the world is designed so that only one of the two `government´ for more women to win ground in the world for us to take into account also men can`t live alone in the world and not women. Men in the history of mankind have had the power and will remain so going forward but women increasingly.
